Jazz concert - ESPRIT JAZZ

Jazz concert - ESPRIT JAZZ

In New Orleans, there's a whisper of a French quarter,
Where wrought-iron balconies dance along the narrow streets,
and the musicians bloom like wildflowers under the Creole moon.
Our programme unfolds in two enchanting acts:

The first takes us to NOLA, the birthplace of jazz,
for a furtive visit where the notes float like free souls in the warm Mississippi air: Amazing Grace, Just a Closer Walk with Thee, Careless Love, ...

And the second takes us to the heart of fine French songs, reinvented in intimate echoes:

Georges Brassens, Jean Ferrat, Jacques Brel, Edith Piaf, ...

Thomas and Jean-François, a duo that goes way back...

Their first shared notes date back to the school choir. Then they founded their first group: the
DUCKS.
In the depths of a Moselle garage, they learned to play together, to make their own arrangements, to savour the joys of transposition and to explore a wide range of musical genres, including jazz.
At the same time, they played in various wind bands, including in Distroff. From adventures to adventures, from choir courses with Goldman to school concerts, they founded another group, SITSAP, devoted to jazz fusion.
When they started teaching music, they did so in the same establishments: Rosselange, Devant-les-Ponts, Homécourt and... the Melodia music school in Distroff!
After a few years apart, it's a real joy to be reunited with them for a friendly concert in a JAZZ SPIRIT!
